Sue Chapman, a London Primary School teacher (pictured above) followed God’s call to Africa going initially to Durban and then to Zambia where her role was to plant and pastor churches in the more rural areas.

The Head Man of Mukubela invited Sue to plant a church in his village and gave her a large plot of land to build on.

1998 Sue started a nursery school in her home.

1999 This first class of ten children nearly doubled to become two classes.

2000 The church in Shampule was planted. The new church building was completed at Mukubela.The school moved from Sue’s house to use the new church building.

2001 The school was now big enough to employ 2 teachers and the first teacher’s house was built.

2002 The school was started in Shampule.The church in Chikoloma was planted. Building work started on the new school at Mukubela and another teacher’s house.

2003 Food relief was provided where the crops had failed in the drought.The church at Kapela was planted.The new school building opened with 100 children and 4 teachers. A third teacher’s house was built. Dayspring Christian Ministries was formalised.

2004 Grade 8 students attend The King’s School at Mukubela for the first time10 teachers are employed. Two new classroom blocks at Mukubela and Shampule were started. Students take their first public exams.

Dayspring Christian Ministries is a charity that brings together different projects in schools, churches and communities in and around Mukubela a village in rural Zambia 40km west of Lusaka. The charity is registered in Zambia, with trustees from Christian Vision Bible College, and is headed up by Pastor Sue Chapman. Sue also founded Dayspring, and you can find out more about her if you cast your eyes to the left hand column.

Aims of Dayspring Christian Ministries:

  • To plant Churches that grow and go on to plant other churches.
  • To serve the communities where we establish churches
  • To Train and mobilize men and women to serve God effectively.
